Time to be Me

The ‘Time to be me’ project is run by Howgill Family Centre.  Emotional Wellbeing Practitioners are based in our school and work with children either on a one-to-one basis or within small groups.  Each child is reassessed every 4 weeks and can continue attending sessions as long as necessary.

Their aim is to provide a safe and secure environment in which children feel able to share and explore emotions, thoughts and feelings through the therapeutic activities they offer.

The low levels of wellbeing of children can have a great impact on their childhood and life chances.

'Without the experience of happiness and a sense of wellbeing in our lives, it is difficult to thrive and to become the best we can. The low levels of wellbeing of children can have a great impact on their childhood and life chances. Our service provides a safe and secure environment in which children are able to share and explore emotions, thoughts, and feelings through the therapeutic activities that we offer.  We help those children who have negative emotions deal with them without repressing or denying them by encouraging positivity, building self-esteem and resilience.'
