The amazing staff in our kitchen work hard all year round to make the food we serve, nutritious and delicious.  They also have a calendar of theme days which you can see above.  These days give our children the opportunity to try new things and see the fun you can have with food.

The kitchen staff always make an excellent job at decorating the dinner hall for theme days; take a look at the pictures.

Packed Lunches

At St Gregory & St Patrick’s we offer all children the chance to enjoy our healthy, balanced and nutritious meals. We are also able to cater for those children who have special dietary needs.

If you have decided to make a packed lunch for your child please be aware that we like to promote a healthy diet and environment for our pupils; this is why we have introduced a ‘Packed Lunch Policy’. Based on research undertaken by the School Foods Trust, eating a healthy school meal can positively affect children’s behaviour in the classroom. As you will be aware there is increasing concern about
rising rates of obesity and related health problems in children. As a school, it is part of our responsibility to help children learn how to eat healthily.

We understand that some of our children have a fairly healthy packed lunch and we would like to change this so that ALL children do in the future.

Our school is a ‘Nut Free’ environment and therefore request that you check all products that you
place in your child’s packed lunch do NOT contain nuts. Products that state ‘This product may contain traces nuts’ should be avoided if possible, but as a school we understand how limiting this will be for choosing products for your child’s packed lunches, we just request that caution is used at all times.

We would like to emphasise the importance that all parents follow this as we have children within our school who have food allergies and its vital that we keep them safe

Kitchen Policy and Procedures

We have Food Policies in place which are to ensure the food served from our kitchen is nutritious and safe to eat. Please click below to see our policies.
